Steiners, Sonoma Cheese Factory Cited After Underage Drinking Sting

Three Sonoma restaurants were cited for furnished alcohol to a group of minor decoys, the latest nabbed in a series of sting operations

The Sonoma Police Department cited three businesses Wednesday for furnishing alcohol to a minor – the latest in their series of alcohol stings. 

On Wednesday, the two youths entered 10 Sonoma restaurants and attempted to order alcohol; the Sonoma Cheese Factory, Steiners Bar and Rins Thai Restaurant were cited for providing alcohol to the minors.

Nicknamed a "shoulder-tap" operation, the Department also uses their underage decoys to test the will of local civilians; the decoys stood outside liquor stores and asked adults to purchase them alcohol.

Two subjects were cited Wednesday for purchasing alcohol for the youths.

Restaurants and bars cited by the program will face a license review through the ABC, the employees who served the youths face criminal charges.
