Sheriffs Say Drug Deal Led to Three Dead in Forestville Shooting

Emergency responders found three dead from gunshot on Ross Station Road Tuesday; Sheriff will have press conference at 2 p.m. today.

The County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, reporting there were three deceased males inside a residence of 9707 Ross Station RD. The reporting party stated that it appeared all three of the male subjects had been shot.

When deputies arrived on scene they searched the property and located three deceased males in the bedroom of  second house on the property, and confirmed that all three had been shot. The residence and the property were secured and detectives from the Sheriff's Office began their investigation.

During the course of the investigation it was determined that one of the deceased was Raleigh Butler, age 26, according to the Sheriff report. Butler was originally from Petaluma but had been living out of the area for the past several years.

The property where the three victims were located was being rented by Butler's mother, who was out of the state when this crime occurred.

The other two deceased subjects were also from out of the area. Other names will not be released until notification of next of kin.

"At this point in the investigation, based on interviews and evidence collected at the scene," said a steatement from the Sheriff's office,  "we believe this is a marijuana drug deal that resulted in the death of the three victims."

There will be a press conference at the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office at 2 p.m. this afternoon.
