A Sonoma woman said she could not avoid hitting two young Sonoma boys with her car on Sierra Drive in unincorporated Sonoma County north of Sonoma this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

Kimberly Downey, 56, of Sonoma, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet HHR at 15 to 20 mph south on Sierra Drive, near Mulford Lane in the Boyes Hot Springs area, around 10:50 a.m., CHP Officer Anna Paulson said.

Downey said she tried to avoid a collision but was unable to do so, Paulson said.
