UPDATED: Sonoma Woman Killed in Cavedale Road Crash

Woman was not wearing seat belt; California Highway Patrol is looking for witnesses to the fatal crash

UPDATE: The California Highway Patrol is identifying the woman as Barbara Bradley, 52, a Sonoma resident.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle accident which left a woman dead and Cavedale Road strewn with debris.

Responding to a report that Cavedale Road and Highway 12 was strewn with suspicious debris, the CHP discovered the remnants of the crash Monday at 6pm.

A female driving a 1999 Chevy pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Cavedale Road when unknown circumstances caused the vehicle to turn off the road.

The truck overturned "several times" before dropping 50 feet down a cliff off of Cavedale Road," Jaret Paulson, a CHP Public Affairs Officer.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially ejected from the vehicle during the fall, Paulson said. 

The CHP is not releasing the woman's identity, pending notification of kin.
