Agenda for City Council Meeting June 3

The agenda for Monday's regular session of the Sonoma City Council has been released, and published on the city's website. It's also available as a document attached to this article.

Among the items on the Consent Calendar is a resolution urging the State of California to assert its right to continue to lease the water bottoms in Drakes Estero for shellfish cultivation. The item was requested by Mayor Brown and Mayor Pro Tem Rouse. It's unclear what if any stake the City of Sonoma has in the contentious issue, and the State's authority over Federally protected land is another questionable area.

On the Regular Calendar, two items concern filling appointed positions on City boards and commissions. One is a resolution establishing guidelines pertaining to appointments, the other discussion and possible action on the process for filling the vacant position on the Planning Commission.

The other two Regular Calendar items refer to Sonoma's delegates to up-coming conference, the 2013 League of California Cities Annual Conference; and direction to the Mayor regarding the City’s vote on an appointment by the Sonoma County Mayors’ and Councilmembers’ Association at their June 13, 2013 meeting.

The meeting will take place at the Community Meeting Room next to the Police Department at 177 First Street West. It will also be broadcast live on community channel 27 and online at sunfm.tv
