Do You Want Busking in Sonoma?

The Sonoma City Council will review legislation regulating street performers at tonight's meeting

Urged by members of the musical community, the Sonoma City Council will rethinking street performing regulations at tonight's meetings.

Though busking is not banned in Sonoma it is not "specifically allowed for" in the Sonoma Municipal Code, according to the city's report.

Additionally, the report points out, street performers would not comply with the decibel limitations under the city's .

Busking, with a registered licence, is currently allowed in both Santa Rosa and Healdsburg.

  • Possible resolution of agreements between the city and the Rancho de Sonoma Mobile Home Park. 
  • A possible response of a "Grand Jury Report Identifying the Need for a Whistleblower Program in Sonoma County and the Sonoma County Schools Report."
  • Discussion, consideration and possible action authorizing the acceptance and use of State COPS Funding of $100,000 from the California Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund.
  • Appeal of the Tree Committee’s decision to deny Sebastiani Building Investors Inc. the right to remove an oak tree from the property located at 481 First Street East.
