'Big Box' Committee Holds Final Meeting

The Sonoma City Council’s Ad Hoc Committee on Formula Stores will hold its final scheduled meeting on Monday, September 12 at 6 p.m. in the Emergency Operations Center meeting room of the , 177 First Street West.  The meeting room is to the rear of the building off of the parking lot.

The agenda of September 12 includes a focus on the definition of formula store and potential regulations in the various zoning districts of the City.

The Committee was created by City Council action at its meeting of May 16, 2011.  The purpose of the Committee is to study, research and report back to the Council on options related to the possible further regulation of formula businesses and changes in tenancy of large commercial spaces.

Meetings of the Ad Hoc Committee are open to the public.  For more information and the agenda (when available), visit the City’s website at www.sonomacity.org and click on the Ad Hoc Committee link under “News”.  The September 12 agenda packet will be posted by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2011.

The membership of the ad-hoc Committee includes City Councilmembers Steve Barbose and Tom Rouse, Planning Commissioners Michael George and Matt Howarth, Chamber of Commerce representatives David Cook and Jennifer Yankovich, and community members Kelso Barnett and Ben Boyce.
