Stephan Gale, Chair - Sonoma County Democratic Party, has been participating in and reporting on the "Occupy Santa Rosa" movement. He said in a recent email: "...What I have found remarkable is hearing what the people actually 'on the front line' have to say. I encourage everyone of you to spend time at City Hall and to listen more than you talk..."

He continues: " ...If you want to support Occupy, please send respectful e-mail or letters to members of the Santa Rosa City Council, the City Manager, and the Police Chief letting them know you want the City to work through whatever issues they have to make it possible for Occupy to continue their peaceful expression of their 1st Amendment rights. If you have the means to provide an in-kind donation, the list of things they are asking for follows: AAA Batteries, AA Batteries, hot prepared food for 25 - 50, non-commercial donated food, water - especially in bulk, warm beverages like coffee & tea, reusable plastic bowls & plates, sturdy plastic utensils, serving spoons, coolers, bleach for sanitizing, trash cans, trash bags - 30 - 50 gal., cleaning buckets, scrub brushes, cleaning solutions, brooms, unpowdered plastic gloves, Easy Up canopies, outdoor heaters, Walkie Talkies, Dumpster rental, use of a truck to haul trash." Things can be brought to Santa Rosa City Hall. If someone has a large item or wants to fund a dumpster, they should contact one of the organizers who is on site.

"A blind and ignorant resistance to every effort for the reform of abuses and for the readjustment of society to modern industrial conditions represents not true conservatism, but an incitement to the wildest radicalism." President Theodore Roosevelt, 1908.
