**The Sonoma Valley Democrats are holding a "Tax Petition Day" on Sat., Apr. 21, at 10am at the "downtown" Barking Dog Roasters (near Whole Foods in Sonoma). There there will be packets and training to collect signatures to place the important "Schools and Local Public Safety Protection Act" on the California ballot. The measure begins to restore fair tax rates on the wealthy and guarantees that new revenues will go to education through the Proposition 98 funding mechanism (40% of the general fund goes to K – 14 education). The deadline to get this measure on the ballot is the end of April.
