Is 2 Hours Enough Time to Park in Sonoma Plaza?

The Sonoma City Council is set to discuss an increase in the parking limit in Sonoma Plaza.

Ever been to Sonoma Plaza and thought "Two hours is plenty of time to shop and do lunch," only to find a parking ticket on your window when you return to your vehicle?

Well, apparently, you are not alone.

Several community members have asked Councilman David Cook to increase the parking limit in the plaza and tonight, the Sonoma City Council will consider adding an extra hour to the limit.

It at least three council members agree to increase the time limit, the council would need to direct staff to study the impact of the increase. Staff would need to explore the impacts of replacing signage in the plaza, and impacts on plaza businesses, according to a staff report.

In addition, city staff would need to seek input from the Sonoma Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Steering Committee.

Now we put the question to the readers of Sonoma Valley Patch. Should the parking time limit increase from 2 hours to 3?
