North County Day of Service in Honor of 10th Anniversary of Sept. 11

Sonoma County Supervisor Mike McGuire and community volunteers join together to lead Foothill Regional Park improvement project.

Multiple North Bay Patch sites (including Alexis Fitts from Sonoma Patch) are joining  and other community volunteers on Saturday, Sept. 10, for the first ever North County Day of Service.

The event, in honor the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, will be at Foothill Regional Park, 1351 Arata Lane, in Windsor.

Volunteers will conduct trail maintenance, provide brush clean up and plant trees throughout the park. Sonoma County Regional Parks is coordinating the activities.

  • Date and Time: Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 from 8 a.m. to noon.
  • Location: Foothill Regional Park — 1351 Arcata Ln., Windsor, Calif.
  • Supplies: Volunteers should dress for doing outdoor landscaping work and bring sunscreen. Hats and sturdy shoes recommended. All volunteers will be provided with a free continental breakfast and BBQ Lunch with all of the fixings, a Regional Parks Water Bottle and the opportunity to improve Foothill Regional Park.
