Politically Active Youth: Here's How to Get Involved
The city is seeking a new youth representative for the Community Services and Environment Commission
An announcement from the City of Sonoma
The City of Sonoma is seeking applicants to fill the Youth Representative position on the Community Services and Environment Commission (CSEC). The CSEC advises the City Council on matters related to the preservation and enhancement of parks, recreational facilities, open space and the natural environment. Applicants must reside within the Sonoma Valley and be available to attend one evening meeting a month (second Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.)
While the youth representative does not have to be a student, the City encourages high school students to apply. The last two youth representatives Hanna Nead and Sarah Summers were students at Sonoma Valley High School during their terms and represented the youth very well on the Commission.
Those interested are encouraged to submit a completed application form to the City Clerk, No. 1 The Plaza, Sonoma CA 95476. Application forms are available online at www.sonomacity.org or may be picked up at City Hall. The position will remain open until filled.
For additional information contact City Clerk Gay Johann 933-2216.
