Public Workshop on Napa Street Water Main Replacement June 25

from Gay Johann, Sonoma City Clerk/Assistant to the City Manager

The City of Sonoma Public Works Department will conduct a Public Workshop on June 25, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. to discuss and collect public input for the West Napa Street Water System Replacement Project.  The meeting will be held in the Community Meeting Room, 177 First Street West, Sonoma.

The project is located on West Napa Street from the intersection of Broadway and West Napa Street extending west to the intersection of Sonoma Highway and West Napa Street (at Staples).

The Project consists of the reconstruction of 8-inch water main (abandonment of existing water mains in place and construction of a new 8-inch water main), replacement of approximately 50 water services and surface restoration work.  Construction is currently planned to begin in the summer of 2014.

During construction, traffic control will be in place within the project area.  Most of the construction work is expected to occur at night, with some work during the day. Access to properties in the area will be maintained at all times during construction.

The informal public workshop is intended to provide an opportunity for affected businesses and the public to discuss and provide input regarding the project and develop an understanding of what can be expected during construction.

A short presentation will be provided at the beginning of the workshop, followed by a question-and-answer period.  City staff and the City's engineering consultant will be available to individually answer questions.
