2013 Water Supply Strategies Action Plan updated from 2010 Action Plan

Sonoma County Water Agency held a public workshop on Tuesday of this week to discuss and receive input on future plans for water supply, recycled water and flood protection.

The Water Agency’s Board of Directors and the public provided input on both the 2013 Sonoma County Water Agency Strategic Plan and the 2013 Water Supply Strategies Action Plan.

“The Water Agency’s goals address the need to keep rates consistent,"said David Rabbitt, chairman of the Board of Directors and the Sonoma County Board of Supervisor, "while finding innovative ways to update infrastructure, enhance flood protection and secure our water supply for the future.”

The 2013 Strategic Plan includes strategies for water, sanitation and recycled water, flood protection and energy, as well as a fifth category based on communication and workforce capability.

The 2013 Water Supply Strategies Action Plan has been updated and reprioritized from the 2010 Action Plan based on project progress and changing priorities.

Accomplishments include construction of a new recycled water pond at the Sonoma Valley County Sanitation District plant and construction of Phase One of the Dry Creek Habitat Enhancement demonstration project.
