Something a Bit Different at Jack London Park—Vagabondage

The San Francisco folk-punk group is just what London would have loved, say concert organizers. Hear the band on Monday night.

And now for something completely different.

Vagabondage in the House of Happy Walls.

Say what?

In an effort to appeal to a broad cross-section of the community, Jack London State Historic Park welcomes you to an evening of San Francisco-bred folk punk.

It promises to be "the sort of rousing performance about maritime adventures, untoward barfly characters and rough and tumble tales of nature and wilderness that Jack London himself would have raised his glass to enjoy," according to a news release from the park.

One of the Vagabondage videos—"Raise Your Glass"—was filmed at Heinolds First and Last Chance Saloon in Oakland's Jack London Square, a bar Jack London frequented so often that it is called Jack London's Rendezvous, according to the organizers of this benefit concert.

The event is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the park, 2400 London Ranch Road. Tickets are $20, payable in advance online at the park's website.

Refreshments, including beer, will be served at intermission.
