Sonoma City Council to Wrestle with Petition, Parking Limits
City Council to discuss own role in petition process, evaluate comment on parking limit increase
The role of the Sonoma City Council in a public petition process is appearing on the Council Agenda for Monday, April 15, in not one but two ways.
Added to this is discussion and possibly action to increase the parking limit from two to three hours on the Plaza, following the survey that the City conducted with local business owners and managers on the subject, as well as public comment.
One of the two petition-related matters is receiving a report from the City Attorney on Initiative Procedures and individual council members commenting on them.

The second is to authorize the City Manager to evaluate options for soliciting proposals and retaining consultants to assist staff in analysis and investigation the impacts of the proposed Hotel Limitation Measure, as described in the Elections Code.
The meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room, next to the Sonoma Police Department. The agenda is attached to this article and available online with supporting packet links on the city website.
