Sonoma Gets $58,520 For Depot Park Improvements

Sonoma County Board of Supervisors Directs more than $2.6 Million in federal money to community projects, including $545,000 to high priority projects for several cities.

Sonoma County designated Sonoma this week to receive more just over $50,000 this week for renovations at . 

The renovation includes a resurfacing of the parking lot between Depot Park and Arnold Field - a project which made waves recently when the f for new management.

The county money, announced Tuesday, was part of more than $2.6 million in federal funds allocated throughout the county by Sonoma County Board of Supervisors for numerous community development projects and services provided by local nonprofits.

“These funds will truly make an impact in our local communities," said North Sonoma County Supervisor "For example, the county was proud to partner with the City of Cloverdale to develop a micro-enterprise program targeting small businesses with less than five employees.

"These badly needed funds will help Cloverdale residents achieve their small business goals and spur job growth in the North County,” McGuire said.

 “Investing in our community is one of our Board’s highest priorities," said Sonoma County Board of Supervisors Chair Efren Carrillo. "The actions taken will improve access to accessible housing across the county.

"Beyond funding just the city priority projects, we are also supporting many local
incredible non-profit organizations who are helping our, most vulnerable receive a hand up, not a hand out,” he added.

The $2.6 million includes  $545,000  for high priority projects -- such as Depot Park-- in  local cities, and more than $2.1 million to a number of local non-profits for the provision of housing and homelessness prevention service

--Healdsburg, 1, Giorgi/Recreation Park ADA Restroom, $100,320;
--Rohnert Park, 1, Sidewalk Ramp ADA Upgrades‐Phase 1, $ 73,402;
--Sebastopol, 1. ADA Transition Plan, $ 66,880;
--Sonoma, 1. Depot Park ADA Improvements Project, $ 58,520;
--Windsor, 1, Library ADA Improvements, $ 62,700.
