Sonoma Residents Asked to Limit Water Use

Sonoma County Water Agency request also affects Santa Rosa.

The Sonoma County Water Agency on Monday asked water customers in Sonoma and Santa Rosa to avoid heavy water-usage projects on Wednesday and Thursday, the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports.

Water customers are asked to avoid filling pools or watering their lawns on those days, while the Santa Rosa Aqueduct (under Sonoma Avenue) undergoes seismic upgrades.

Water will remain flowing during the shutdown, Project Manager Steve Koldis told the Press Democrat.

The upgrade work will occur near the Rodgers Creek Fault, where Koldis say the water system is most vulnerable.
