High School Musicians Play at Black Bear Diner Today To Raise Money

Support the school's music program by mentioning it when ordering food, until 10 p.m. Musicians play 1:30-8p.m.

If you saw Black Bear Diner's bear on the sidewalk beckoning you to come eat today, that was student Josh Farley, a choral music student at Sonoma Valley High School.

The school's choir, madrigal and jazz students will perform at the diner 1:30 to 8 p.m. today to raise money for their program.

"A lot of people don't even realize we still have a music program at the school," parent Anastasia Encarnacion told Patch. "Music is really expensive." Encarnacion is the chair of fundraising for the school's music department.

If you eat at Black Bear anytime today until 10 p.m. and mention the program, 10 percent of the proceeds will go toward the music department.

The students can also be seen playing in the parade on a Patch video of Glen Ellen Village Fair taken over the weekend.
