Sonoma Valley High School Principal Resigns

Dino Battaglini's resignation is effective June 2013 and he is taking a leave of absence until then.

Principal of Sonoma Valley High School Dino Battaglini resigned at the school board meeting Jan. 17. His resignation is effective June 30, 2013. The Board granted him a leave of absence until that date, according to a news release issued by Sonoma Valley School District.

The district has declined to state a reason for Battaglini's departure. He was not available by phone when Patch attempted to reach him at home.

Battaglini had been principal of the school since July 2010.

Lynn Fitzpatrick is acting as Interim Principal. Fitzpatrick has been Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

"The district appreciates Dino's contributions and wishes him well in his future endeavors," the news release stated.

The district will begin the search for a new principal, with a goal of identifying the person before the end of the school year.

"The District is optimistic that Sonoma Valley will attract quality candidates with the expertise and experience to lead Sonoma Valley High School's pursuit of college and career readiness for all students," according to the news release.
