Sonoma Raceway Honoring NHRA's 'Leading Ladies'

Lead-Foot Ladies Starting Line Party will be held during the July 28 Sonoma Nationals.

Sonoma Raceway will honor the role of women in NHRA later this month – and organizers are bringing in some big names for the bash.

Female NHRA sensations Brittany and Courtney Force, Alexis DeJoria will be among those on hand for the Lead-Foot Ladies Starting Line Party, which will be held during the July 28 Sonoma Nationals.

The Force sisters are the daughters of 15-time NHRA Funny Car champion John Force.

The emergence of high-profile female NHRA drivers goes back to the 1970s.

Shirley Muldowney became the first woman to win a Top Fuel race in 1976, paving the way for nine others to make an impact in the sport.

The event includes access to a special Q&A session with the Forces and DeJoria that will be held before the final eliminations round that will be immediately followed by a Track Walk down the stripe with all three women.
