Weiner Nationals This Week in Oakland, Winner Goes to Super Bowl

It's a dog's day on Nov. 24 at Oracle Arena.

It’s not your typical dog and pony show—The Bay Area’s finest dachshunds will dash to the finish line at the Oracle Arena for the 17th Annual Wiener Nationals – Oakland Regionals. One dachshund will go from “wiener to winner,” taking home $250 and a trip to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego for the 2012 Wiener National Finals!

Pick up an entry form at a Bay Area Wienerschnitzel. Registration is free.

Oracle Arena is at 7000 Coliseum Way Oakland. Parking is at the 66th Ave. entrance.

The event was founded by John Galardi in 1961 with a single hot dog stand in Wilmington. Wienerschnitzel operates or franchises 350 stores in 10 states and Guam. It is part of Galardi Group, which is also the parent company of The Hamburger Stand and Tastee Freez LLC.
