Community Supported Agriculture lets produce-loving home cooks buy into a share of a farmer's weekly bounty

 

Sonoma Garden Park – a farming project, created and managed by the – has opened sign-ups for Community Supported Agriculture shares for this summer. 

Community Supported Agriculture lets produce-loving home cooks support a local farm by receiving a weekly share of the farm's bounty – in the form of fresh, local, and sustainably grown produce.

The Ecology Center's CSA, provides a weekly box of fruit and vegetables to all shareholders during their 25-week season, from May to November. 

Shares, which provide enough produce for 2-3 people, can be picked up Tuesday at the Sonoma Garden Park. The boxes cost around $20 per week; eggs or flowers can be added for a small fee.

All proceeds benefit Sonoma Garden Park, a working farm and model of sustainable agriculture, managed by Sonoma Ecology Center. Sonoma Garden Park was a gift from Pauline Bond, and is located at 19996 Seventh Street East, between MacArthur and Denmark Streets in Sonoma.
