Summer Ice Cream: Where Do You Buy It Around Sonoma Valley?

Memorial Day is past. The temperatures are heating up and summer time is almost here.

One of the luxuries of summer is ice cream, whether it's on a cone, in a cup or from a half-gallon container.

Ice cream is a little more expensive than it was a few months ago. Prices rose 0.3 percent in April, but they're 0.6 percent less than a year ago. The average price for a half-gallon is about $5.10 nationwide.

Still, some companies are trying to lure customers with new flavors and discounts.

Burger King is offering ice cream cones for 50 cents between now and Aug. 5. Sonic Drive-In is offering their milkshakes, all 25 flavors, half off after 8 p.m. Know of any other ice cream deals? Share them in the comment section below.
