The is greening up for Earth Day – which is set for April 21, from 9 a.m. to noon.
For the big day, the Ecology Center is partnering with the and Sonoma County Regional Parks for a good old community clean-up. Join a varied group of volunteers who'll meet for a creek cleaning session – an effort to protect the Sonoma Creek Watershed – before sitting down for a potluck lunch.
The Scoop: staff will start the day at Maxwell Farms Regional park, distributing coffee and pastries. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves, eating utensils (plates, cups, flatware), and water bottles to help reduce the overall event footprint (duh!) – and bring a dish if you'd like to stay for the potluck. The potluck starts after the work day finishes, at noon.
