Adele Harrison Middle School is one of two middle schools in the Sonoma Valley School District. It accommodates about 468 students from grades 6-8. The school is located on Broadway, next to Sonoma Valley High School. The school is built around a grassy courtyard, with open plan classrooms connected by covered cateways. Athletic fields are behind the building. The school has a diverse student body, enrolling a student body that is 63% white, 39% Hispanic, and 2% Asian. Almost 44% of the student body is "dissadvantaged," and over 30% require English as a second language instruction. The school maintains and English-Spanish dual immersion program, a comprehensive tutoring and mentoring program, outdoor education, and the GATE gifted and talented program. In 2010 Adele Harrison was one of two schools to recieve a gift from Stone Edge Farm, which will build onto the Sonoma Valley Garden Project to allow them to build greenhouses, educational vineyards, small orchards and work towards installing a garden curriculum.
