Schell-Vista Volunteer Fire Department

The Schell-Vista Fire Department, is a Volunteer-staffed fire protection agency. Its range covers 60 square miles, fromMore Highway 34, to  the north and east sides of Sonoma City, to Highway 116. It was established in 1942 and has a staff of 40 trained fire volunteers, who respond to wildfires and residential fires as well as medical emergencies and traffic accidents. The department has two stations, one at the corner of 8th Street East and East Napa Street, and one where Highway 12 and Highway 121 meet. The volunteers are led by Fire Department Chief Mitch Mulas.

It is a great place to pick up supplies for your wine country picnic. There's patio seating and free WiFi, and plenty of free parking. Next door is the 76 Station and Janelle's Coffee Hut.

Located near the intersection of Arnold Drive and Highway 121, this small, family owned winery is open daily forMore tasting, and specializes in wines for the local eateries. The 2008 Pinot Noir is the flagship wine here, as well as its Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Rouge De Noirs and the Late Harvest Riesling. Founded in 1980 by Walter Schug, he now shares his passion with his son, Alex Schug and local winemaker Mike Cox. The Heritage Club wine club offers preferred pricing on wine and gifts, as well as V.I.P. winery tours and tastings. The winery offers private parties in the wine cave with reservations.
