Depot Hotel Restaurant and Garden, family-owned and operated since 1985, is one of The Valley of the Moon'sMore landmarks. The historic plum-stone building circa 1870 was a hotel until 1922, although don't be fooled by its name. Today, it's solely a restaurant. Chef Toni Ghilarducci serves authentic Tuscan country cuisine using local Sonoma ingredients. The veal scallopini and peppercorn filet mignon are popular. Seating is ample inside and outside in the garden, which also makes the space ideal for receptions and banquets.

Carneros Bistro and Bar

Chef Janine Falvo and sommelier Chris Sawyer bring diners "approachable modern Californian cuisine crafted from fresh,More seasonal, local ingredients," paired with local and imported fine wines. This restaurant is located inside of the Lodge at Sonoma, a Renaissance Hotel, right across Broadway from Train Town. While the lodge and restaurant are owned by a hotel chain, Carneros Bistro maintains a connection to local ingredients and cuisines, and provides a friendly, inviting atmosphere, including a full bar. A vegetable and herb garden surrounds the restaurant on two sides, and chef Falvo picks many of her fresh ingredients right there. Sommelier Sawyer offers a free "Grapes to Glass" wine education night every Tuesday at 5:30pm, which includes a wine tasting. Monday is locals night, when customers are invited to bring their own bottles of wine to enjoy with no corkage fee. On Thursdays, guest winemakers and proprietors come to share what they know during "Celebrity Wine Bartender" night. Along with these regular events, menus and special events are always changing with the seasons; it's a good idea to check the Carneros Bistro website to see what else is happening.
The Cooperage Inn

Owners and artists Ken and Claudia Wagar personally decorated each suite with paintings and antiques to create a European Renaissance feel. Their home is also part of the property and they have a private gallery and studios as well as a fine art and archival printing business called Flying Ink Press housed below the hotel. They are attentive and helpful hosts, while respecting the privacy and solace of their guests. In-suite massages and other body treatments can be arranged.
